	How long does it take to register a domain name? Credit card or Visa/Mastercard Debit card - online, about 5 mins EFT - next business day (transaction must be made before 6pm Sydney time) Cheque - approximately 3 business days when funds are cleared How will I be notified that I own the domain? You will be notified immediately by email once your payment has been accepted. This email will have your ownership details as well as your password. You need to keep a copy of this in a safe place. How long does it take to get my domain working? It usually takes 24-48 hours for a domain to fully propagate. This means it takes a little time for various servers around the world to reflect the changes that have been made and to recognise that your domain name now exists. What do I set my domain's name servers to? Please read your welcome email. If you have lost your welcome email you can email us requesting your DNS.

	How long does it take to design a web site? That always depends on how fancy it is and how many bits and pieces of the design we have to put together. We allow two to four weeks for most of our clients. What if I need more design work later and want to add a few more pages? We will discuss your needs and quote you on a case by case basis.

	If my business needs more space on your server can I upgrade from one plan to another? Yes you simply pay the difference. If you are on a monthly plan we will simply increase the amount. Are your server's Unix, or NT? Our servers are Linux Red Hat 7.3. and Red Hat 9.0 content Do you allow adult sites? Yes, we allow adult sites, however we reserve the right to reject any web sites which we think are boardering on illegality. set-up How long does it take to set up my account? Your account will be setup automatically within 15 minutes of ordering. control panel What control panel do you use and do you have a demo? The control panel we use is called Cpanel. A demo of Cpanel can be found here Login with the username demo, and the password demo. Do you have a manual for the control panel? Go to http://www.cpanel.net/docs/cp/index.html Where do I go to login to my control panel? Go to http://www.yourdomain.com/cpanel sub-domains What is a subdomain? www.designtheweb.com.au is a domain name. A subdomain is anything that replaces the www in a domain name.forum.aol.com is a subdomain. www.forum.aol.com is not a subdomain. How do I make sub-domains? To make a sub-domain login to your control panel and click "domain management". Inside of domain management you will see a place to manage and add sub-domains. To create a sub-domain Cpanel asks for the name you wish to use. MAKE SURE the subdomain name you give it doesn't have a folder already named that name. If it does the sub-domain will not work. Example... I want to create the subdomain test.designtheweb.com.au so my sub name is going to be test. If I already have a folder in my FTP named test I need to delete it or rename it to something different before I create the subdomain with the test name from cpanel. Addon Domains What is an addon domain? An addon domain is a fully functional domain that will work out of a folder in your main site's FTP. READ THIS BEFORE SETTING UP AN ADDON DOMAIN! You cannot create an addon domain if your DNS hasn't proprograted to the server already. So after you change the site's DNS you are trying to add you will need to wait 24-48 hours before attempting to create your addon domain. There are three fields cpanel asks for when creating an addon domain: "New Domain Name:" You will put in the newdomain.com do not put www in the name! "Username/directory/subdomain Name:" This will be the folder cpanel creates in your main accounts ftp. MAKE SURE that the name you give it doesn't already have a folder. Example... If you want to give it the username chris. You cannot have a folder in your account named chris already. If you do and still try creating the username for the addon domain to be chris you will mess a lot of things up!!! "Password:" fill in any password you want here. Help. I added an addon domain why did it say subdomain added?!!? It creates it as a sub-domain by creating the folder within your main site's FTP. Please ignore this! It is a fully functional domain name. It is only called a subdomain when in fact it is an addon domain. Telnet & shell access Do you offer telnet or shell access? No. Due to security reason's we do not offer telnet or shell access.You are still able to unzip files on the server using our file manager as well as the ability to setup cron jobs. Can I password protect directories? Yes you can password protect directories using Cpanel. FTP Where can I download a free FTP? We recommend downloading WS FTP from here It's not letting me upload my files. What's wrong? Make sure you are uploading to the right web directory which is the public_html folder. Why doesn't my FTP password change when I change my Cpanel password? Please allow 24 hours for your FTP password to sync with your Cpanel password. paths What is the path to my users files? The path is /home/username/public_html What is the local path to perl? The path to perl is /usr/bin/perl What is the path to curl? The path to curl is /usr/bin/curl What is the path to ImageMagick? Make sure that they are chmoded to 755 How do I create databases and manage them? Login to your cpanel and click MySQL Databases. After your database is created you can manage it from phpmyadmin. This can be found at the very bottom of the MySQL page. Software Versions What version of php are you using? 4.3.3 and 4.3.4 What version of perl are you using? 5.6.1. What version of MySQL are you using? 4.0.15 What version of Cpanel are you using? Our servers automatically stay up to date with the most recent stable cpanel version. Secured and Shared Socket Layers (SSL) What is the difference between shared SSL and private SSL? A shared SSL displays as https//ip/~yourusername/ A private SSL would display as https://www.yourdomain.com in the address bar. How do I purchase a private SSL from you and what type is it? Please email sales@designtheweb.com.au to do so. What is the path to the free shared SSL? We need to activate the shared SSL on each site manually that will require it. I'm going to purchase my own ssl what do I need to know? Our servers are Apache + Mod SSL If you require assistance from us to install it there will be a $55.00 installation fee. How do I transfer a SSL? Every place that sells ssl's has a different transfer procedure. You will need to ask the supplier you purchased it from.

	How do I create email accounts? To create an email account login to your control panel and click add/remove email account's. What do I put for both incoming and outgoing mail server? For both incoming and outgoing mail server put mail.yourdomain.com Where do I go to check my emails using my browser? yourdomain.com/webmail/ How can I setup webmail to go directly to horde, neomail or squirrel mail? Login to the one you prefer to use after doing so copy the entire url from your address bar. You will not login to your cpanel and create a subdomain to go to the address you just copied.

	What forms of payment do you accept? Visa, Mastercard, Australian personal and business cheques (Note: Business and personal cheques will take 3 business days to clear before any work commences). Domain name registration - must be paid in full. Design work - 50% retainer with the completion payable on agreed delivery of web site. Hosting - may be paid either monthly or annually by any of the above methods. Can I pay monthly? Yes, you may pay monthly for hosting only. Domain Name registration is payable for the whole year in advance and any design work is payable upon assignment. Is tax included with my monthly or yearly plan? Yes, tax is included within the price. How do I get the 30 day money back (applies to hosting only) Simply email us your username, password, and why you wish to cancel within thirty days, and we will process your refund. How do I make a payment? All online payments are recurring. Your payment will be automatically deducted. How do I stop billing? If you wish to close your account simply email us your username, password, and why you wish to cancel. You must also include the following text in your email: "I give you permission to delete my website and all of it's content." Are there any hidden costs, or setup fees? No
